I read a recent post titled "37 DU Students get Mysterious Illness" written by Kieran Nicholsonof the Denver Post. In this post Kieran writes about how dozens of students at DU had gotten sick over the weekend, and students remain hospitalized today. The article said that the Denver Health Department is investigating the illness but they still have not come up with a cause. Symptoms of the mysterious illness include vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, dizziness and dehydration. According to the university spokesman 42 students reported being ill since Sunday and at least 13 students were treated at the university's health and counseling center, and at least 24 were taken to Porter Adventist Hospital, where seven remain today.
This article caught my eye because it seemed weird to me that this many people could be struck by an illness and they still do not know what it is or where it came from. To me it does not seem like that big of a mystery (though I'm defiantly not a doctor)... From the symptoms listed it sound like these students have just gotten a bad case of the flu. I think by now they should know what is wrong so that these students can be treated and no one else will catch this awful sickness.
This relates to me because our student teacher for our History class attends DU and seeing as he has been at work all week I do not think he has been affected by the illness, but he may know people who were affected.

Green eggs and sam, you did a good presentation. You talked pretty fast but had good Plns, Over all good job
Sam, you spoke clearly and loudly which was good but you talked kind of fast. Just slow down your presentation and not read from your notes so much. Good job on telling good detail on your posts.
Fantastic presentation. Good job on speacking clearly and loudly. It was also good that you connected the PLN's to us. Good presentation.
You did a very good job with looking at the audience and having interesting articles. You spoke clearly. Good job!
Sam, you had a good presentation. You spoke loud and very clear. You had good summaries of your blog. Next time try making more eye contact and less reliable on your notes. Otherwise, good job.
Sam- You made very good eye contact and spoke very clearly. You also made good connection to your pln's. Other than that good job.

Sam, amazing job. Work on making more eye contact, and don't talk quite as fast, but other than that, you were awesome. You had great points and strong opinions for all of your PLN articles. Keep up the good work.
Sam, good job speaking loud so everyone could hear. Also your eye contact was good. You related your topics to yourself and knew a lot about your topics also. Good job.
Sam! I think that people who DO put personal information on public sites, are very very dumb. I think that sometimes it is important to be able to google someone. That's crazy how many people got the illness. But since they're all together all of the time, it could have just been a extremly contagious flu. Stupendous job Sam!
Good job Sam I liked your presentation. I also did the post about making kids googleable and I made some of the same points.
Sam, great job your presentation was very good your explaination of what the article was about and what mattered so great job.
Sam,
I agree about how more people need to learn to be safe on the web and to limit the amount of personal information they put up. I also agree that we should be aware of what we put on the web so that if we were to be googled by an employer, they wouldn't find anything negative. Good job, yo presented really well. :)
